Jeffrey J. Lawley, Doctor of Physical Therapy/Clinical Director
Jeffrey Lawley, who prefers to go by JJ, is the director of OPTS. JJ has been working at OPTS since February 2016 after graduating with his doctorate from Oakland University. JJ attended Michigan State University for his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and remains a faithful Spartan fan. In addition to the Spartans, JJ also enjoys watching and playing a variety of sports including ice hockey, golf, basketball, bowling and softball. JJ comes from a medical family as his father is an orthopedic surgeon and grandfather was a primary care physician who had been servicing the Garden City area since the 1960’s.
Craig Palka, Doctor of Physical Therapy
Craig attended undergrad at Wayne State University where he received his Bachelors in Education with a focus in Exercise Sports Science. He then spent 4 years in PT School at the University of Saint Augustine, in Saint Augustine Florida. Craig is a lifelong Detroit Lions and Red wings fan, as well as a supporter of U of M sports. Craig grew up locally in Dearborn and spends his free time playing hockey, golfing, or spending quality time with his new German Shepherd. Craig is the youngest of 3 brothers that all took very separate paths in life but still find time to get together to celebrate holidays and new family members. Practicing physical therapy is very rewarding for Craig as he enjoys helping everyone reach their full potential.
Sydney Bester, Physical Therapist Assistant
Sydney Bester decided to be a PTA after going through physical therapy for her knee and being told she would be a great fit for the field. Some of her favorite things are llamas, Disney, and Christmas. When Sydney isn’t at work she enjoys working out, dancing, and spending time with the people she loves.
Deidre Coffee, Receptionist/Billing
Deidre, who prefers DeeDee, has been greeting our patients for over 10 years. She had over 20 years of management and customer service experience before she joined our team. When she is not at work, DeeDee enjoys spending time with her family and doing home projects with her husband.
